Vibration Analysis

Vibration analysis is the measurement of vibration intensity in equipment that will identify changes in the operating condition through trending, spectral and time waveform analysis.

Vibration analysis detects gradual deterioration of plant, including misalignment, imbalance and bearing faults, before costly damage and or failure occurs. Reduced residual machine vibration levels lead to improved reliability and trending the causes of faults helps improve maintenance practices.

Typical equipment monitored on a routine basis for developing faults include:

electric motorspumps
compressorsturbines
gearboxesrefiners
screwsrock crushers

ABB also provides specialist vibration analysis services for
  • vibration/dynamic modelling of machines
  • assessment of multi-journal bearing machines - such as power generation units
  • structural resonances
